I have done so many certificates & Diplomas from Coursera and trust me when I say, they'll help to boost your credentials. Coursera offers a wealth of accredited courses to boost your resume. From Google certifications to specialized industry training, there's something for everyone. Best of all, Coursera often provides financial aid options. By completing their Financial aid form, you can get the Course for free. Learning new Courses can expand your skill set, enhance your job prospects, and potentially earn certifications at little to no cost.

ALX AFRICA

Take advantage of their several free courses. Most are 100% Free but some others you might need to pay a small fee for some about $5 per month but it's worthy it. Whether you are starting your remote career or looking to advance, take advantage of any free resources or programs out there. ALX offer:

ALISON

This is another great place to advance and master new Skills.

Alison offer a variety of resources including free courses, resume builders and a lot of work Guides.

The Courses are free but to receive your certificate, you'll need to pay between $13 to $20. This is worthy it. it's not a lot for a certificate. You learn at your own pace and they have some great lecturer videos and activities.

LinkedIn is another great learning resource. They have a lot of courses, more like a library or hub of useful resources. It's worth to take a look.

To jumpstart your remote work journey, I've curated a list of top-tier job boards to explore. These platforms offer a diverse range of remote positions across industries, empowering you to find your ideal opportunity. Remember, continuous learning and skill development are key to thriving in the remote workforce. Please continue reading on some tips I have curated to avoid been spammed and ways of making sure you get a chance for an Interview below.

Hubstaff Talent

This is one of my best job board out there. They have a variety of remote jobs and they post every hour/often.
To get started:

1. Create a Profile. Link

2. Create your Portfolio

3. Browse Jobs

Please note that this does not guarantee you a job but if your portfolio is good and you are able to fill in the job requirement well then you have a chance.

REMOTE.CO

This is also a good resource.

Focus on the Remote Location under each position.

Avoid applying for positions that have different locations from where you live, not unless you are planning to relocate. (An example if you are living in Africa, do not apply for position quoted remote, US)

I usually recommend that you apply on the "Location: Remote Anywhere/Worldwide"

Filter jobs by Field or Keyword

REMOTEOK.COM

Just like Remote.Co, RemoteOK is a good resource for remote jobs. They have a wide variety of jobs in different fields. You can filter by the latest job. Avoid applying for jobs over a week old. Chances are they are already interviewing and chances of the recruiter looking through your application is low. Try adding job alerts to be notified when a new position is posted.

ATHENA

This is mostly for Kenyan, and Philippines.

The company has locations in both countries. They are always hiring remotely and the best part is some of their positions including Executive Partner have Training.

You don't need experience to apply, but you'll need to pass their assessments.

I would say, give it a try.

The Executive Partner position is like a Virtual Assistant. Here's the link.

Be sure to look at their other positions.

CLIPBOARD HEALTH

They have a huge collections of remote careers mostly in the Health field but you can try your luck. They also have Customer Support, technical, sales and operations. Make sure you take a look.

NODESK

This website favors Technical careers. Those people in Tech, finance and Marketing fields then this is for you. They too have non-tech positions so it's worth a look.

CROSSOVER

I would say if you are looking for a well paying remote job, then try crossover. They post very good jobs but be prepared for a serious assessment. They hire worldwide, go for it please.

I've always considered LinkedIn and Twitter as great resources for remote Jobs but you need to be both smart and patient.
Of course you need a profile in LinkedIn.

2. You need to make sure your profile is updated with your previous positions, skills, recommendations and schools.
3. You need to be smart in adding networks. You need networks that posts the jobs that you are looking for. Here's a great resource for "how to use LinkedIn"
